General Details
Year: 2013 (63 plate)
Model: gen 3 tourer
Engine size: 2.2l automatic
Fuel Type: diesel
Length of ownership: 2 weeks
Your favourite thing(s) about your 6: everything about it is so shiny and new compared to my old 2002 mazda 6
Would you buy another 6: planning on keeping this one for the life of the car, so will probably buy a 2 for the gf next as i dont need the extra space of the 6 tourer
A few personal words about your 6: absolutely love driving it!
Would you warn prospective buyers about anything? fuel consumption isnt as good as i hoped it would be due to me mostly doing stop/start short length commute journeys in rush hour (so far)

How do you find your 6 in terms of
Economy: at least 5mpg better than my old 6, will be considerably better when i start doing longer journeys
Driveability: smooth, comfortable, corners really well for an estate and drives in a very similar fashion to my old hatchback 6
Performance: goes like stink when you floor it!
Equipment: tomtom satnav/bluetooth stereo. a few minor niggles, and no DAB, but overall damn good! (ive fitted my old pure highway DAB into the armrest bit in the centre console)
Comfort: extremely comfortable
Practicality: if i didnt need to carry large items around, i would have probably gotten a 2 (maybe a 3), but right now, it's perfect for what i need!
Reliability: n/a (only had it two weeks from new) - but my old 6 didnt break down once in the 6 years i had it.

General Details
Year: 2014 (63 plate)
Model: SE-L Nav 5dr tourer
Engine size: 2.2 (150ps) manual
Fuel Type: diesel
Length of ownership: 3 weeks
Your favourite thing(s) about your 6: Looks and drivability. And all the toys.
Would you buy another 6: Yes, so far.
A few personal words about your 6: I love this car, probably the best car I've owned. Apart from a few niggles everything works brilliantly.
Would you warn prospective buyers about anything?
Getting a little bit of wind noise through the top of the drivers window but nothing excessive. i-pod integration through the USB port is slow to load and always starts at the first song. Waiting for the promised update to the software to fix this.

How do you find your 6 in terms of
Economy: Not clear yet, it gets better as the engine loosens up. Still good if not quite up to the promised levels.
Driveability: Excellent, sure footed and plenty of get up and go.
Performance: Very nippy for a big car.
Equipment: Apart from the i-pod issue everything works fine. Bluetooth phone, music all good.
Sat nav miles ahead of the one I had in the Renault.
I find the commander control really easy to use.
i=stop, parking sensors, engine start button, hill assist, folding mirrors, i-loop, self dimming rear mirror, cruise control, automatic lights and wipers all work seamlessly. Answered phone in car for first time last week and it was simple and easy to operate while driving.
Not had cause to try the city assist breaking yet, luckily. Also still to explore the voice controls.
Comfort: Ride is a little on the hard side for some maybe, but still comfortable and worth it for the handling.
Practicality: Big enough boot for what I need.
Reliability: So far so good.

Anything extra to note?
Only thing I miss is keyless entry, available on sport trim but I didn't want 19" wheels.

General Details

Year: 2014
Model: Sport Nav Tourer
Engine size: 2.2 Turbo Diesel (175bhp)
Fuel Type: Diesel
Length of ownership: 2 ½ weeks
Your favourite thing(s) about your 6: The way it looks and drives.
Would you buy another 6: Definately
A few personal words about your 6: Even before we decided that we wanted to change our car, we had already decided that our next car would be a 6. We already own an MX 5 so we already aware that Mazda build good driveable, drivers cars, so when we decided to change cars there was only one garage that we visited and only one car that we test drove. The 6 whilst being large and spacious, has a sporty feel, the engine is responsive at all speeds, the handling is fantastic with exact steering and good feel of the road (in my opinion all those reports of the ride being ‘over firm’ are just nonsense). It is by far the best looking tourer/estate out there and I love the way that the car looks stunning from every angle. I still get a real buzz when I look at the front wheel arches as they blend into the doors. Without doubt the best car that I have ever owned.
Would you warn prospective buyers about anything? NOPE

How do you find your 6 in terms of
Economy: Good, only had it a short period of time and only been doing reasonably short journeys in it but it is already way ahead of my last car, a Honda Civic
Driveability: Excellent. Its so good sometimes I forget that I’m driving a big Tourer and think that I’m in the MX 5. Indeed there are more than a few similarities in the way that the two cars handle.
Performance: Excellent. Smooth power throughout and plenty to spare when its needed to overtake.
Equipment: Excellent. Despite the odd little niggle about the I-pod connectivity, everything is just as you would want it and to a very high standard. Bose system is by far the best in car system I have ever heard.
Comfort: Seats are very comfortable, perfect driving position easy to achieve with electric seats. Loads of rear passenger leg room. Cabin is a nice place to be in.
Practicality: Easy to drive and easy to use. Large boot space which increases easily with one hand operation to drop the rear seats.
Reliability: Only had it a very short time but so far no problems at all.

Anything extra to note? A stunningly good looking car which draws attention where ever it goes. Its size and practicality belies its fantastic performance, drivability and quality.
