I would have thought it was heat cycling the discs that caused the problem, but apparently it was to do with the pads - what I don't know.

That's interesting. I took my car into the garage back in February as I was experiencing juddering when braking. They told me nothing was wrong and the brakes were fine. It's also had its first service back in April and nothing was mentioned then either. Were you informed of the brake issue through mazda them selves?

It's still juddering under braking.......

Cheers

Trunka , in Europe they have problems also with breaks , you can claim new pads and disc from Mazda under warranty , on other Mazda 6 foreign forum plenty people has done it and they been approved because there is a problem when they get hot and they change shape a bit which cause judder

Sorry I don't have any other info about the bulletin number, but I would have thought Mazda, or another dealer's service dept could help. I'll ask my dealer if they will tell me the bulletin number.

Another 2 Diesel engines damage in Europe. Exactly the same problem like Ross described. One of them lasted 40k miles. Apparently guy had problem with starting engine in mornings.

Oh boy... now we need to look at this more carefully. Problem is there are no early warning signs reported - the early morning start problems is just a one confirmed case - right? Thanks damtom, Ross.
