Just picked up my Mazda 6 today after engine refurbishment.
I can confirm that car is more responsive to accelerator, brakes work better and fuel consumption went down.
Also I received extended warranty for engine 4 years /100000 miles

I attached letter I received today from Mazda Uk Customer Relations Manager:
''Dear Mr.
Thank you for your recent communication with Mazda Motors UK.
As agreed in our telephone conversation of 24th November 2014, I would confirm in writing the findings from the assessment of your Mazda6, once the repairs were complete and the vehicle returned to you. Having spoken with your dealer, [dealer name] Mazda today, I understand you collected your Mazda6 earlier this morning, which I am pleased to learn.
Having assessed your Mazda6, [dealer name] Mazda found that the camshaft had suffered from levels of wear that are not expected at this stage in the engine’s life.
In view of the above, I would like to assure you that the associated repair process is extremely thorough and ensures that all aspects of the engine are checked. If the integrity of other components has been compromised as a result of this incident, these components are replaced without question, to ensure the longevity of the engine is restored. This was indeed the case regarding the turbo fitted to your engine, as although this component may have been serviceable for some time yet, it was agreed that it should be replaced as a precautionary measure.
We are confident the repair has successfully eliminated all aspects of premature wear and that due to the fitment of enhanced components, reoccurrence of this issue will not be seen.
Whilst noting the above, I accept you have some apprehension over the reliability of the engine and therefore we are also confident to extend the warranty cover on the engine alone for the 4th year/100,000 miles (whichever occurs first). This letter can be kept as a record of our commitment, however; this guarantee is subject to your Mazda6 being maintained in accordance with Mazda’s recommendations.
In closing, I am sorry it has been necessary to contact us under these circumstances, however; I thank you for bringing this to our attention.
