My local dealer is also useless. So I travel over a hour for a better dealer

Sounds like your dealership only pays peanuts and you know what you get if you pay peanuts !!

Luckily, the dealership that I bought my new M6 from, who by the way also serviced my last M6 (2014 model), is one of the only Mazda exclusive dealerships in the UK. I travel over 200 miles round trip to get to them, passing four other Mazda dealerships on the way. Why do I do that I hear you ask. Well apart from them being the cheapest Mazda servicing place in the South East, they are a family run company, who by chance service nearly all the Mazda company cars, including the directors ones, in the Mazda UK HQ, just 2-miles from them.

All of their mechanics (technicians) are Mazda trained and not as my local dealership, trained by another manufacturer and do Mazda work as a side line!

With them I find that they are all very eficient - even the dealership toilet cleaner - and seriously strive to please me. If I have a problem or query, they sort it out in a very helpful manner. That said, because of the 200-mile round trip, I am forced to visit a much nearer Mazda dealership, who employs monkeys, just like yours. Whenever I visit them they fob me off with the usual statement "It's a feature of the car" - in other words, "go F yourself".

I am happy to supply you with the name and number of my wonderful Mazda dealership, just send a private message. I have done that before and others have rung them, speaking to the excellent service director, and been given some excellent information and advice. I just hope that you are within range of this dealership, as they could help you better. No Mazda owner has to return to the dealership they bought the car from, unless like me, they gave you 3-years free servicing and first MOT ! Just a hint on location - they are close to the Thames crossing at Dartford (south side)

Had the service done this morning and everything was all working as it should and no problem with the camshaft which is a relief. Once i got home and left the car on the drive for about 2 and half hours, i thought i would check the oil level and it is smack bang inbetween empty and full. Is this normal after a service allowing for the oil to rise or should it be at the full level ?
Unfortunately Newmazdaowner, i am in south Wales so a tad too far for me lol.

On both of mine after oil and filter change and I have it done every 6000/7000 miles the level is about an 1/8th inch under full mark and that seems to be the instructions given to all main dealers to allow for excessive regents if you do a lot of short journeys. In 6500 miles mine has just got back to the full mark with oil and filter change being done this Friday while I wait so the oil gets drained hot and gets all the crap out. Despite the service schedule I don't think the oil is any good by 10000 miles so have it changed intermediatly to be safe and peace of mind no matter what type of journeys you are doing but it's up to you.
Cheers Steve

Cheers Steve. That's good to know as was going to go back to mazda tomorrow to find out why it isn't full.
I do a lot of dual carriageway driving a week at the national speed limit so hoping that will keep the regens down to a minimum. Think I would have gone for petrol knowing all this with the diesels. Stuck with it now for a few years but don't mind so much as it's a stunning car to look at and drive. And it's the pearl white as well which looks fab.

A meer bagatelle - had you said 'New' South Wales I would have agreed that its too far. Their low service price alone would save you the miliage cost and the car would get a decent run out every year.

Regens by the way, will happen every 150 to 200 miles however you drive.

Did anyone on here ever email Mazda customer care regarding the camshaft faults? If so what response did you get?

With the diesel just change oil and filter every 6000/7000 and you won't have any dpf problems no matter what journeys you do or how many regents then just enjoy the car that's what I do :D
