If you go ask your dealer and insist on this issue, several colleagues have suffered in their cars.

Thanks for the number mohawk - this is what I found on the Internet

Translation (Bing)
Mazda Motor Belux letter today (reference AE027A) - 24th March 2015

The following procedure must be performed by my cc

Control of vacuum pump, flushing the engine with special oil, flushing oil replacement by the new engine oil filter change oil by a new type and replacement of the vacuum pump.

Okay I'll take an appointment...

UK Dealers are aware of this problem and have sent letters to affected owners - mine luckily was not in the recall batch, which presumably is the faulty camshaft VIN range

Great, Mazda takes preventive measures to make sure all camshaft problems (and related costs) will not show up as soon (gambling it will happen after the warranty has ended). Mazda NL has just released the same letter, check vacuumpump, change oil and filter. And this a couple of weeks after my Mazda garage lifted the einginecover to visually inspect my camshaft.

I was hoping this Cam problem was incorrect but indeed i also was approached by a Mazda mechanic who told me the same. My 2105 facelift is 5 days old now so its very worrying as he told me he worked on one that is 2015 with very low milage. Thats major surgery on a new engine and not worth thinking about.

Excellent site for highlighting such issues

Are you talking about same issue , camshaft issue? The engines in mazda from 2014 (exactly from 18 september 2013) onwards are revised and camshaft issue doesn't appear in them.

Ross can this thread go to stickies and can you change please title to " Gen 3 owners please read - diesel issue " or something similar , to highlight that this thread is about diesel engine so all new comers to forum will spot it straight away. This is my little suggestion :)

Yes he said he had a 15 model in with Cam Shaft problem and Turbo replaced also, i think he must be confused on the car he was talking about as reading previous threads these cars are not effected. his account of the problem was a bit all over the place, i figured this when he asked me was my 2.2 deisel fitted with a Skyactive engine, Strange question from a Mazda mechanic really. So i think there is more knowledge on this site than some Mazda people.

I have checked my number and its 300xxx so releif on this one.

Gents,

a minor contribution.

last week i noticed my brakes were failing when i "pumped" them, (going solid after second pump when stationary or moving at speed).
Complained to Dealer who immediately booked the car in and looked at it 2 days later.

They carried out AE027A and AE031A Recalls.
My vacuum pump was replaced and ECU reprogrammed, and it looks like my oil filter and oil has been changed (not told about oil change by dealer).
i have not noticed a power reduction in the car....will watch for that now !

Mazda 6 tourer sport 150 2.2d
Nov13 with VIN ***146***
21k miles mixed motorway/back road driving with full boot of heavy work equipment.
all 4 tyres down to 3 to 3.5mm (225/45/19 92W, original bridgstone T01's, getting 4 new bridgstone T001's fitted next month for £600 all in with lifetime warranty.)
Ave MPG; 45mpg mixed driving, 54mpg at steady 60mph on Dual/Motorway, 45mpg at fast Motorway speeds.

problems:
1. at purchase: no spare tyre, quoted silly money for spare kit from dealer, persuaded dealer to provide a spare full 19" alloy and tyre (wheel and cheap tyre about £400 retail in Nov13, dealer half that ?) for the garage as part of purchase over and above the discount negotiated.
2. from 8k start/stop a pain in the perverbial...stops fine, then immediately restarts the engine a lot of the time....dealer cant find any problem with it...
3. 15k new front discs and pads fitted at my expense (was refunded half money from mazda UK, feeling cheated here), discs warping again 6k later but dealer not having it (wish i had seen this forum before then).
4. 21k Brake performace poor (fixed by above, maybe a progressive failure as i cant recall suddenly having problems until i tried to pump brakes on motorway in start stop traffic.)

Other than that, love the car...much better than my previous company car substitutes, vectra 1.9cdti 150, mondeo 140d zetec, insignia cdti 130 SE, qashqai+2 1.6d 130 2wd (wish i got the 4wd to stop the wheel spin at take off).

Thought i would keep the mazda for more than 3 years (unlike last 2 cars changed after 2 years), not so sure now....maybe an excuse to wife to get myself a new one !

Cheers

Hello. It looks like your VIN is in defect range and I'm quite surprised, dealer didn't change your camshaft, or maybe he did but didn't inform you about that. How long was your car at dealers?

The full size spare doesn't fit in the well of a 3rd Gen Tourer without raising the floor substantially.
